Supporting Your Child’s Independent Reading

Parents attend the first hour of each class and learn ways to support their child’s independent reading that are easy and fun. You’ll come away knowing what parental support and encouragement your child needs and exactly how to provide it.

Choosing Books For Your Child

This program makes it easy to select the right books for your child by providing you with two important tools. The Reading Development Booklist summarizes hundreds of enjoyable, age-appropriate books, divided into sections according to level of difficulty. The teacher will work with each student and provide you with an individualized Book-Level Assessment identifying the right level of books for your child. As a result, you will be confident that you are providing your son or daughter with good books at the appropriate level of challenge.
